For solid interface characterisation we use methods, such as QCM, ellipsometry and SFM. Liquid interfaces and thin films are investigated using the thin film pressure balance technique, AFM and tensiometric methods. We operate specialized labs providing scanning-force techniques for surface imaging and force measurements in different environments and the characterisation of foams and thin liquid films.

LEAF - Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework

We are proud to announce that our laboratories have successfully passed the LEAF assessment and meet the criteria for the Bronze award.

The Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) is an assessment tool for sustainable laboratories developed at University College London (UCL), which has already been implemented in 16 countries. It offers a three-stage assessment framework through which working groups can achieve bronze, silver, or gold accreditation. LEAF is now one of the largest international green lab certification programs.”

We like to thank Prof. Dr. Nico Bruns for supporting and evaluating our laboratories and working methods. We are eager to realize additional advice to further improve the sustainability and reach the next higher ranking in the future.
