Experimentelle Untersuchung von molekularer Dynamik in weicher Materie; Wechselspiel von Struktur und Dynamik bei Vorhandensein innerer Grenzflächen und geometrischer Einschränkung auf der Nanometerskala.

Projekte

  • Molekulare Dynamik glasbildender Flüssigkeiten in harter und weicher geometrischer Einschränkung.
  • Konzentrationsfluktuationen und intrinsische Confinementeffekte in Polymer-Weichmacher-Systemen und niedermolekularen Mischungen.
  • Triplett-Solvatationsdynamik wasserstoffbrückenbildender Flüssigkeiten im Confinement
  • Glasbildende Mikroemulsionen
  • Polymer-induzierte transiente Netzwerke und Dynamik in Mikroemulsionssystemen.

Die Projekte werden gefördert im Rahmen der DFG Beihilfe BL923/1 sowie im Rahmen des Teilprojektes BL1192/1 der DFG Forschergruppe 1583 .

Experimentelle Methoden

  • Photonenkorrelationsspektroskopie, insbesondere in tief unterkühlten Schmelzen und unterhalb von Raumtemperatur.
  • Breitbandige dielektrische Spektroskopie, Frequenz- und Zeitdomänenspektroskopie, dielektrisches Lochbrennen.
  • Dynamische Differenzkalorimetrie sowohl konventionell als auch temperaturmoduliert.
  • Triplett Solvatationsdynamik, eine lokale Sonde für molekulare Dynamik in Confinement.
  • Quasielastische Neutronenstreuung, Time-of-Flight Spektroskopie, Rückstreuung; Experimente am ILL in Grenoble.
  • Röntgen-Photonenkorrelationsspektroskopie, mit Hilfe teilkohärenter Synchrotronstrahlung; Experimente an der Europäischen Synchrotronquelle (ESRF) in Grenoble.
  • Röntgen- und Neutronen-Kleinwinkelstreuung (SAXS, SANS) zur Aufklärung mesoskopischer Strukturen.
